AvtoVAZ wants to sell 37,500 Lada cars in Russia in November
MOSCOW, Nov 17 (PRIME) -- Car producer AvtoVAZ plans to sell 37,500 Lada cars in Russia in November, and registers high demand, CEO Maxim Sokolov told reporters at a forum on Friday.
“By the end of the year, we have reached more active demand. Despite a higher key rate, and a hike of the recycling fee, which have hit the entire market and cooled it somehow, and despite the ruble rate... we can see that demand persists at nearly October figures,” he said.
“In October, we sold a record high amount of cars, almost 41,000. The plan for November is 37,500,” he added.
In October, the company’s sales hit a 10-year record high of 40,900 cars.
Sokolov also said that AvtoVAZ’s production plan for 2023, which currently amounts to around 400,000 Lada cars, may be adjusted by up to 10%. In January–October, the company manufactured 293,000 cars.
AvtoVAZp plans to resume production of its Vesta and Niva cars meeting the Euro-5 ecological standard. The Niva models will also feature ABS systems, according to Sokolov.
